Hello!!!
Ok so first of all, I will never admit to being a writer. I actually really dislike writing and it was my least favorite subject in school. However, I do love to talk so it's just talking on paper (or screen!) right?
Well I am going to attempt blogging. Yelp! We shall see how often I actually get on here.
A little backstory on me. I grew up in southern Minnesota. I have three older brothers and grew up on a farm. I went to x-ray school and worked as an x-ray technologist for almost 10 years at Mayo Clinic before moving to Iowa.
Why would I move to Iowa? Well some guy sent me a message on a dating site and after having really bad luck with dating, I gave it a whirl. 9 months later we were engaged and with him having 2 kids, it was easiest for me to relocate so we could be together! After a year of long-distance dating, I packed up and made the scariest move ever. It was total worth it though, because Archie (my husband) is pretty incredible. His twins, Archie IV and Emmalee quickly won over my heart and together we have Kora, who just turned 4.
When I moved to Iowa, I continued taking x-rays. That first summer I was here (summer 2017), I bought my first dslr camera to take sports photos of Archie's travel baseball team. I quickly fell in love with photography and learning everything I could. I am completely self taught-from camera, to lighting, editing and marketing. What you see is me! I started dabbling in portraits and family photography and got a little more serious about it. My hobby turned into a business and I officially started Melissa Bell Photography July of 2019. I have LOVED meeting so many incredible people in Iowa and Minnesota, making memories last forever in their photographs.
That is the beginning for now-I look forward to sharing more of my journey, sharing videos and more with you!!!
